I spent the last 5 years technology project management and customer care consulting, predominantly for the mortgage industry. In August 2007, I stepped back from the mortgage industry altogether, and since have been developing and managing my own projects. I specialize in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Web development, Lead Generation and Web Marketing.
Since leaving the mortgage industry I designed and oversaw the development of two (TIPR and TIPMyPhone) leading applications for the Apple iPhone using a technology that I filed patent on last year, called TIP (Total Information Pages) . TIP links all text within a Web page to one search source, instantly establishing a contextual search system. I recently signed a partnership contract with PR Newswire, the World's leading news/press release company to feed their news distribution network through this technology. The application is featured on Apple.com and has been well received by the iPhone community. In June 2008, I rolled out my second TIP iPhone application and it also is now featured on Apple.com. At this point, these projects and applications run so well and with virtually no oversight, that I find myself seeking out new challenges and companies looking to hire a top-notch technology manager. Let me tell you a bit about my experiences.
I have nearly 20 years in technology and management of information technology companies. In 1989 I moved from Denver to Champaign, Illinois (the home of the browser) where I managed a couple of successful BBS (Bulletin Board Systems). I actually had a credit card machine in my basement where I would key in CC of persons purchasing software from me. I went to work for a small personal computer manufacturer and systems integrator called Fox Computers as a corporate sales executive. Three years later, I bought the Company.
In late 1994, with the dawning of the commercial Internet, I converted my BBSs to Websites and co-founded an ISP called August 5th, Corp in several cities in Illinois. For 5 years we grew and managed the ISP, as well as Fox Computers. We eventually decided to focus solely on the ISP and discontinued the computer hardware business. In 1999 my partners and I, with the unanimous blessing of the board of directors, sold the ISP to Rocky Mountain Internet (RMI), in Denver. F
or the next two years I acted, first as a Regional IT Manager.
RMI didn’t make it through the Internet bubble burst of 2001. However, we saw great potential and bought the assets and client accounts from the bankruptcy sale. I co-founded and kept it going under the umbrella of a newly formed company called A5.com, not skipping a beat. The clients within the region of my old company (RMI) didn’t see any downtime. Other than a billing name (A5.com) and an address change, the regional clients I represented were able to enjoy the same great service and employee base they had grown accustomed to over the thirteen years I managed their services, first under Fox Computers and eventually under A5.com.
In 2003, I sponsored an employee buyout of A5.com partially in reward for their loyalty and hard work. Some of the employees had worked with me for 13 years through thick and thin. To this day, I still enjoy a wonderful personal relationship with some of the employees from this period of my career.
I’ve had an exciting and productive career in Internet and information technologies. My career promises new challenges that I look forward to with great anticipation.
